Iranian Official Released from Swedish Detention

Iran announced today, Saturday, that an Iranian who had been detained in Sweden since 2019 has been "released" and will return to his country shortly. Kazem Gharibabadi, Secretary of the Iranian Human Rights Committee, stated on the platform "X," "Hamid Nouri, who was unlawfully detained in Sweden since 2019, is free and will return within a few hours." Nouri was arrested in 2019 in Stockholm and was sentenced to life imprisonment in the Scandinavian country for his role in the mass executions of opponents ordered by Tehran in 1988.
