The Baghdad Provincial Council confirmed yesterday that "the local government in the capital has completed all preparations to welcome the summer season." Council member Ali Al-Mashhadani stated to "Baghdad Today" that "the local government of Baghdad has ended all preparations to receive the summer, particularly concerning essential services like water and electricity, with significant attention to these issues, especially in the outskirts of the capital." He pointed out that "citizens will notice a clear change in the level of services provided to them this summer compared to previous years, due to government service plans that we will implement in the coming stage," stressing that there is "continuous communication between the Provincial Council, the local government, and federal government entities to resolve any issues faced by citizens during the summer."
Members of the Baghdad Council have previously confirmed that the priority of work in the council will be to develop the reality of essential and necessary services across the capital in the upcoming phase. Council member Ola Al-Tamimi told "Baghdad Today" that "we will work, through the Baghdad Provincial Council, to enhance the reality of essential and necessary services throughout the capital during the upcoming phase, especially regarding sewage networks, drainage, and roads, in addition to addressing the issue of encroachments and informal settlements as well as agricultural housing." Al-Tamimi noted, "We will work diligently to monitor the actions of the local government in Baghdad and the service departments, and we will oversee every aspect, as no work can succeed without oversight and follow-up."
