The Secretary-General of "Hezbollah," Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah, affirmed during his appearance at the commemorative ceremony held by the party for the wounded and captured resistance fighters on the Day of the Resistant Wounded, that "what the resistance axis is experiencing today in terms of strength is a result of the blessing of the Islamic Revolution that triumphed in Iran around this time." He spoke about the resilience of the resistance in Gaza, stating: "130 days of legendary steadfastness from the fighters in Gaza, and acts of heroism that reach the level of miracles and unparalleled patience in history. 130 days of Israeli failure and its inability to achieve its objectives. 129 days of support and solidarity from the countries of the resistance axis and many peoples around the world."
He added: "In light of what is happening in Gaza, the national interest in the countries of the region, before the Palestinian interest, is to see Israel defeated." Nasrallah pointed out that "what we are doing on our Lebanese front is a national responsibility, consistent with our humanity, our moral values, and our legal and religious duty, and we must be prepared for the Day of Resurrection with answers, and we shall not be deterred by any blame."
He viewed that "opening the Lebanese front against the occupation is primarily a national interest to prevent Israel's victory," saying: "The problem is that some consider what we are doing on the Lebanese front as futile, which is catastrophic. There are parties with preconceived judgments regardless of any achievements and victories, describing what is realized as illusory achievements." He noted that "in internal sessions, those with preconceived positions admit to the achievements, but publicly they do not acknowledge them. Despite the defeat of the invincible occupation army, some still debate the utility of the resistance. This group, which claims that 'international law protects us,' and debates the utility of resistance, is 'hopeless.'"
He stated that "this experience today has solidified the balance of deterrence and proved that Lebanon has a deterrent power," announcing that "the visits of Western envoys to Lebanon have one sole purpose: to protect Israel and return settlers to the north." He said: "The Western delegations do not address in their papers any matters related to the aggression and crimes occurring in Gaza, as they demand the implementation of the procedures they want, without touching upon the issues of occupied territories, Zionist violations, or other matters, focusing solely on 'Israel's security.'"
He added: "The Western delegations, which rely on Israeli statements, attempt to intimidate us. The front in southern Lebanon is a pressure, support, and participation front in inflicting defeat on the Israelis and weakening them until they reach the point where they are convinced that they must stop their aggression on Gaza." He directed himself to the envoys and those who sent them: "Feel free to intimidate as you wish, for it will not affect us; even waging war will not stop our operations," considering that "the Israeli is in trouble and is not in a position to impose conditions."
Nasrallah called on the official Lebanese stance to "impose additional conditions on UN Resolution 1701, rather than just applying the resolution." He said: "Lebanon is in a strong and proactive position and can impose conditions."
