With the conclusion of the academic year and the completion of official exams, and the upcoming release of their results, the Progressive Socialist Party views that another academic year is approaching with uncertainty surrounding its start unless its foundations are secured. The party stated, "In recent years, the Ministry of Education has managed, despite crises, to maintain what remains of public education, thanks primarily to the teachers who faced and endured with their own sacrifices."
The party added in a statement: "Today, it has become impossible to continue in the same manner, as salaries have lost their value despite the increases labeled as social assistance or production allowances, which are not their essence. All this occurs amidst a complete absence of effective solutions and the government's indifference to the suffering of public sector employees in general and teachers in particular. This is compounded by the draft budget law being studied by the government, which is devoid of any benefits, and is filled with multiplied taxes and fees."
The statement continued: "On the brink of the upcoming academic year, the remedies are still absent; either halted or ambiguous, and teachers are leaving for private education or abroad, with hundreds of requests for leave and unpaid leave. So where is the state regarding education? Who will teach?"
From here, the "Progressive Socialist" party sounded the alarm about the sustainability of public education in all its branches, stating, "This sector is rapidly heading towards collapse, and any delayed remedies may be futile and ineffective."
The statement concluded: "The government, the parliament, and all political forces are urgently called to sense what might happen if public education collapses, to hasten the extraction and implementation of solutions, and to place these at the top of priorities before the structure falls on everyone. Based on this, we will take actions soon and maintain constant pressure in this direction."
