The Houthi group in Yemen pledged today, Saturday, to respond to the Israeli attack that targeted the port of Al Hudaydah in western Yemen. The Supreme Political Council of the Houthi group stated that there will be a "significant response" to the Israeli airstrikes on the port.
Military spokesperson for the Houthi group, Yahya Saree, stated on Saturday evening that the group would not hesitate to attack "vital targets" in Israel. He added that Tel Aviv is no longer secure, stating, "We are preparing for a long-term battle with Israel... we will respond to the Israeli attack."
Houthi spokesperson, Mohammed Abd al-Salam, wrote on the social media platform X that "Yemen has been subjected to a brutal Israeli aggression targeting fuel storage facilities and the electricity station of the province."
The Houthi spokesperson mentioned that "the Israeli attack will increase our determination, progressively, to support Gaza." The Israeli army announced that it had struck several Houthi targets in western Yemen on Saturday following a deadly drone attack launched by the rebel group on Tel Aviv the day before. The army stated it had targeted several "military objectives" in the coastal city of Al Hudaydah, a Houthi stronghold, adding that its attack was "in response to hundreds of attacks carried out against the State of Israel in recent months."
