British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak condemned the violence seen around a pro-Palestinian march in London on Saturday, including violence from far-right protesters who clashed with police. Sunak stated, "What we saw today does not defend the honor of our armed forces, but shows a profound disrespect for them." He added, "This applies to the thugs of the English Defence League who attacked police officers and vandalized the memorial, and it also applies to those who chanted anti-Semitic slogans and waved banners while appearing in Hamas-supporting clothing at today's protest." Far-right groups held a counter-protest as the pro-Palestinian demonstration coincided with Armistice Day, which marks the end of World War I and commemorates the war's dead in Britain.
