The UAE Fencing Federation is organizing an international training camp in Dubai from December 15 to 22, featuring a selection of players and coaches from around the world across all weapons and age categories. The camp will take place at the Al Mazhar Sports Hall in Dubai, with 52 male and female athletes from various countries participating, along with a group of experienced Italian coaches, including a personal fitness coach specifically for fencing, and the national team coaches.
Ali Al Marzouqi, the executive director of the federation, explained that the purpose of organizing such a camp is to give national team players new experiences through interactions with internationally ranked athletes. He stated, "This is the first time we host a mega camp with multiple players and coaches from different nationalities, including an Italian player ranked ninth in the world in sabre."
He added, "Our goal in holding this camp is to give our players, especially those under 17 and 20 years old, experience before participating in upcoming competitions for this age group. In January, the UAE will host the Asian Circle Championship, as well as participate in two tournaments: the Under-20 Sabre World Cup in Hungary and the Grand Prix in Qatar for the épée."
