According to information from "Al-Markaziah," Pascal Sleiman, the coordinator of the Jbeil region in the Lebanese Forces Party, was kidnapped in the town of Khareba in the Jbeil district. An official source confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine whether Sleiman was indeed abducted. The city is witnessing calls for a gathering in front of the Amincheit center of the Lebanese Forces Party.
A phone recording shared indicated the circumstances of the abduction, noting that four individuals in a white Subaru forcibly kidnapped Pascal Sleiman at the intersection linking the towns of Lahfed and Mifouq while he was returning from a funeral. There is a notable presence of the Lebanese army in the wake of the incident along the old Sidon road. Additionally, motorcycles have been prohibited from roaming the road between Shiyah and Ain Rammanah.
In follow-up to the abduction of Pascal Sleiman, Interior Minister Judge Bassam Mawlawi continues to communicate with security leaders within the Lebanese Army, General Directorate of Internal Security Forces, and General Security to intensify efforts. Minister Mawlawi also contacted Sleiman's family, assuring that military and security agencies are doing everything necessary to clarify the circumstances of the abduction.
Prime Minister Najib Mikati is monitoring the abduction of the Jbeil coordinator in the Lebanese Forces. He has requested, through a series of calls with Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi and Army Commander General Joseph Aoun, to intensify investigations and coordination among the security agencies to uncover the details of the case as quickly as possible and return the citizen safely to his family.
Mawlawi clarified in his communication with Pascal Sleiman's family that "we are doing everything necessary to clarify the circumstances of the incident". The investigation into Sleiman's disappearance has been initiated by army intelligence, which is following up on his cellphone to determine if his location can be identified.
MP Ziad Hawat urged security agencies to expedite the investigations to find out "who kidnapped the Forces coordinator in Jbeil, Pascal Sleiman, who previously did not inform us that he was threatened." A phone recording circulating on social media suggests that vehicles blocked Sleiman while he was on his way from a funeral in Mifouq, and the call he was on was cut off after he was attacked by armed individuals.
In the audio recording, a friend of Pascal Sleiman recounts details of the abduction: "I was on the line with our companion Pascal two minutes ago when Pascal said to someone: 'What’s wrong with you, you broke my... Please, I don't have kids on my mind right now,' and I heard him pleading with them not to kill him before the connection ended." His friend commented, "Something serious happened with our companion."
It is believed that the kidnapping of the Lebanese Forces coordinator in Jbeil occurred "while passing through the town of Khareba on his way to Mifouq after attending a funeral." The Lebanese Forces issued an internal memorandum urging party members to remain fully prepared while awaiting directives from the party leadership. The memorandum also requested that members refrain from circulating any security information or prior accusations to preserve the security of the kidnapped coordinator until the situation becomes clearer.
MP Sami Gemayel noted on the “X” platform that the kidnapping incident in Jbeil is a very serious development and called on all security agencies to coordinate with one another and work to uncover the circumstances of what happened. He expressed that the Kataeb party stands with the residents of the area and friends in the Forces to ensure this incident does not pass quietly.
