The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) announced in a report that Iran has accelerated the installation of two more groups of centrifuges for uranium enrichment at the Fordow site. The United Nations agency stated in the report that Tehran began work on additional installations while also planning to install more groups at its underground facility in Natanz.
The secret report sent by the IAEA to member states today indicated that "on June 9 and 10... Iran informed the agency that it will install eight groups, each containing 174 ‘IR-6’ centrifuges, over the next three to four weeks in the first unit of the Fordow fuel enrichment plant."
The report mentioned that "on June 11, 2024, the agency verified at the Fordow enrichment plant that Iran had completed the installation of ‘IR-6’ centrifuges in two series in the first unit. Installation of this type of equipment was ongoing in four other series," referring to one of the most advanced models of centrifuges in Iran.
