The board of directors of the Arab Basketball Federation, in its meeting held at the Baron Hotel in Cairo under the chairmanship of the President of both the Arab and Emirati federations, Lieutenant General Ismail Al-Qirqaouy, made several important decisions. Among these was the provision of many facilities for the national federations to enhance their participation in the youth and junior championships, addressing the issue of the low number of teams in this age category, which is considered crucial for the advancement of Arab basketball. Among the incentives are the reduction of participation fees and exemption from fees for any team participating twice consecutively for its second participation. The council did not stop there, deciding to provide financial support to each federation organizing events for this age group.
The council discussed the memo presented by Brigadier General Abdullah Shalabi, the Secretary-General of the federation, regarding the activity of the previous season as well as upcoming championships. They also discussed the Secretary-General's memo regarding the formation of the new board of directors for the next four-year term, which will be established following the elections of the national federations, based on the memo and communications with the Arab Olympic Committees Federation.
Furthermore, the council reviewed the memo submitted by the financial manager, Ayman Qassem, which included a financial report concerning the previous period and the financial status for the upcoming period, the final accounts, and the new budget project, all of which were approved.
Lieutenant General Ismail Al-Qirqaouy opened the meeting with a speech thanking the member federations for their performance and cooperation with the Arab Federation, emphasizing everyone’s commitment to the success of the competitions and the advancement of Arab basketball. Present at the meeting were Vice Presidents Dr. Magdy Abu Freeha, Abdul Rahman Al-Mas'ad, Ali Al-Banzarti, along with members Rabih Al-Arifi, Hassan Youssef, Secretary-General Brigadier General Abdullah Shalabi, General Director Brigadier General Wael Lotfi, and Financial Manager Ayman Qassem. Also participating online were Vice President Nadim Hakim and members Abdul Sattar Al-Hamdhani, Ibrahim Habash, and Rahab Al-Ghanam.
