Hezbollah's Sheikh Naim Qassem Denounces Israeli Aggression, Vows Resistance

In a central Ashura council address, Hezbollah's Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem criticized Israel for not adhering to the ceasefire agreement established on November 27, 2024, and accused Israel of attempting to dismantle the head of resistance in the Arab world through its conflict with Iran. He asserted that Israel has failed in its objectives despite relying on changing circumstances.

Qassem declared, "We will not accept a ceasefire that allows Israel unrestricted action," emphasizing that they are in a phase of breaking the Israeli project. He stated, "A ceasefire means a full stop to aggression, prepping for the enemy's withdrawal from our land." Highlighting Iran's support, Qassem questioned the Lebanese government: "What has direct negotiation with the enemy achieved aside from concessions?" urging to leverage the actions of the resistance and Iran.

Qassem reiterated that the presence of the Israeli army on Lebanese soil is impossible and called for coordination with the national army to uphold sovereignty. He expressed confidence that "Israel will collapse internally and not remain in Lebanon," promising to confront any breach.

In his speech, Qassem praised Suleiman Frangieh, head of the Marada Movement, who was sanctioned by the U.S. for maintaining his principles. Qassem also criticized the perception of ceasefire in the Middle East, arguing that it's a continuation of aggression allowing Israel to act freely. He underscored Lebanon's and Iran's commitment to resisting aggression, highlighting Iran's strategic move to close the Strait of Hormuz, considering it a strong weapon for Lebanon.

Qassem concluded by calling on Lebanese authorities to leverage the memorandum of understanding with Iran and encouraged reconciliation for national unity to resist foreign dependency. He expressed gratitude to Frangieh and others sanctioned, stating, "They labeled you as pillars of honor in Lebanon for following your principles and patriotism."
