According to sources from "Reuters", Israeli officials confirm that "Israel and Lebanon are engaged in discussions regarding a U.S.-backed pilot project. Under this initiative, Israel will hand over control of certain territories in southern Lebanon to the Lebanese army."
Officials noted that "the Lebanese army will undergo training and U.S. security vetting."
