Traffic Measures in Bteghrine for Cycling Race Event

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division released the following statement:


"Firstly, on July 5, 2026, the 2026 'Official Road Championship of Lebanon' for cycling will be held. This event is organized by the Lebanese Cycling Federation with the participation of federation athlete associations, alongside cycling teams from the Lebanese Army and Internal Security Forces. The race will take place in the Bteghrine area, on a closed circuit road from Al-Zaarour to Baskinta from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM. The roads will be closed and traffic will be redirected along the race route starting from 7:00 AM until the event concludes.


Secondly, the Beirut Marathon Association will hold the 'Run The City /10K/' race in Beirut on July 5, 2026, from 6:15 AM to 8:30 AM. The race starts from Emir Bashir Street opposite Al-Amin Mosque, ending at Ahmad Shawqi Street near the Metropole restaurant, with an estimated 1,700 runners participating.


For this event, the race route will be completely isolated starting from 4:30 AM on July 5, 2026, until the conclusion of the race. Vehicles will begin to be removed from the route starting at 6:00 PM on July 4, 2026.


Citizens are requested to take note and comply with the instructions of Internal Security Forces personnel, adhere to directional traffic signs in the mentioned areas, to ensure public safety and facilitate traffic flow."
