Army Raids in Beirut's Southern Suburb Lead to Arrests

The Army Command - Directorate of Guidance released the following statement: An army unit raided the homes of wanted individuals in the areas of Al-Lailaki, Al-Jamous, and the Old Airport Road in the southern suburb of Beirut. They arrested five citizens for firing shots during a funeral on 14/7/2026 and seized a quantity of weapons and war munitions found in their possession. During the raid, unit members came under fire and responded in kind, leading to the injury of one of the wanted individuals, who was subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment.

The confiscated items were handed over to the relevant authorities, and investigations with the detainees have commenced under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
