Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri has strongly condemned Israel's actions, describing the recent attacks on civilians, including women and children, as well as the destruction in the areas of Mifdoun, Ramadiya, Meidoun, and Arab Salim—and a hospital in Nabatieh—as acts of state terrorism. Israel's recent offensive illustrates a disregard for ceasefire terms, as evidenced by its continued attacks against homes and villages in the districts of Nabatieh, Marjayoun, Bint Jbeil, and Tyre. Berri argues, these attacks serve as 'ballot box of blood' for upcoming elections, prompting political players to compete over damage and death tolls.
Berri added: 'What is happening in the south is both an international and a national responsibility. An urgent intervention is necessary to stop this war on Lebanon and its south. This issue is of national concern, requiring all parties to stand by the south, as its cause is a cause for all Lebanese, equivalent to defending Lebanon itself.'
He concluded: 'Mercy for the martyrs and a swift recovery to the wounded.'
