Just days after Xavi Hernandez returned to his club Barcelona as coach, changes began to appear in the Catalan club's coaching staff. The Spanish sports newspaper "Marca" reported that Xavi's (41 years old) arrival at Barcelona had a profound impact on the team's technical staff. The report added that Xavi is looking to bring in several members of the coaching team he worked alongside at Qatar's Al Sadd. This desire has practically resulted in the departure of several experienced staff members from Barcelona's locker room, which was evident this week with the exit of Juanjo Brau, head of first team physiotherapy.
The list of departures from the technical staff includes Albert Roca, the team's fitness coach, and fitness coordinator Jaume Partrís. The changes also affected Raúl Peláez and Jordi Melero, who are no longer part of the first team. Some will be reassigned to other departments in the club, such as the youth team, while others plan to leave Camp Nou.
