The Kuwaiti Ministry of Information stated in a statement on Monday, citing a government decision, that citizens who have not received a COVID-19 vaccine will not be able to travel abroad starting from May 22. The ban excludes those in age groups not eligible for vaccination. The statement noted that the previous directive prohibiting non-Kuwaitis from entering the Gulf state remains in effect. New COVID-19 cases in Kuwait have increased since the beginning of the year, now ranging between 1,300 and 1,500 daily. Kuwait has recorded a total of 276,500 cases. The country suspended flights from India ten days ago following a rise in cases there.
