Saudi Foreign Minister: We Will Cooperate with the US Administration to Address Regional Threats

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan announced that the security of the region is a priority for European countries and the administration of US President Joe Biden.

The Saudi Press Agency reported the Foreign Minister's remarks during a session of the virtual Davos Economic Forum titled "Reshaping Geopolitics," where he confirmed that regional security is of interest to European nations and the Biden administration. Farhan added that statements from US officials indicate they are aiming for security and stability, keeping that in mind. He affirmed that Saudi Arabia would engage in dialogue with them about challenges it faces, such as Iran's destabilizing activities and its nuclear program, expressing confidence in overcoming these challenges through collaboration.

The Saudi Foreign Minister expressed a hope in his speech that the focus in this region of the world would shift from threats to security and military conflicts to emphasizing contributions towards prosperity and development for the global community.

Earlier, former Saudi intelligence chief Prince Turki al-Faisal emphasized that the relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States is robust on all levels, noting that Saudi Arabia is the largest strategic partner in the region. He insisted that the partnership in security cooperation between the two countries is strong in addressing the threat of terrorism in general, not only in the region but globally, which entails information sharing. The Saudi prince pointed out that despite fluctuations in relations due to changing circumstances, strategic ties have remained strong thanks to mutual interests, particularly in seeking peace and stability in the region by attempting to find solutions to the Palestinian issue and other challenges, especially concerning Iranian activities in the area.
