Lebanese model Yumna Khoury, known as Dr. Yomi, has sparked controversy on social media after posting a video showcasing her expensive jewelry.
In the video, Khoury is dressed in a strapless green gown, adorned with diamond jewels, swaying to the tune of "Ya Ba'adhom Kolhum" by the artist Abdul Majeed Abdullah. She claims that the value of her jewelry is approximately one million Saudi Riyals, adding that this amount is "too little for me." This video has provoked irritation among her audience, with one commenter questioning whether such behavior is befitting a well-educated doctor and praying for her mental stability and faith. Another commented, "Please don't bring such people to us; we don't need more disgust and anger from God, as well as more vulgarity and scandal than this."
Some followers mentioned that the displayed jewelry was a gift, and that her actions diminish its value. Additionally, they criticized her behavior as "inhumane," especially since her home country, Lebanon, is currently suffering from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and its resulting economic collapse, impacting many families.
It is worth noting that Khoury previously attracted attention upon her arrival in Saudi Arabia after she posted a video expressing her shock at the beauty of Saudi women. She mentioned that she was surprised by their looks and, when meeting some of them, assumed that one of their parents was not Saudi. However, she was even more shocked to learn that they were both of Saudi descent.
