Egypt: Large Number of Supply Officials Arrested

Sources within the Egyptian Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade have revealed that a significant number of officials from the Nile Company for Consumer Complexes, affiliated with the Ministry of Supply, have been detained. In statements to the "Cairo 24" website, informed sources stated, "The Administrative Control Authority has arrested 30 officials within the Nile Company for Consumer Complexes, and they have been referred to investigative authorities." The Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade noted in an official statement that "the owners of the Collecting Project outlets in Cairo who were arrested have been referred to the Public Funds Prosecution and are undergoing investigations in accordance with legal procedures, as part of intensified oversight and joint coordination between the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade and all regulatory agencies in the state."
