Magen David Adom (MDA) has warned that it is facing a serious shortage of all blood types across Israel. This reduction in blood supplies poses a challenge for Magen David Adom as it uses this blood to treat patients and the injured, which may create difficulties in providing transfusions for hospitals and the Israeli army. Magen David Adom stated in its warning, "There is no substitute for blood. Every unit of blood can help save the lives of three patients or injured individuals in need of transfusions," urging the public to "donate blood and save lives." The Jerusalem Post reported that Magen David Adom does not receive a government budget, which presents a challenge due to the recent decline in blood donations. Last February, Haaretz reported that the Israeli Ministry of Defense stated that the Medical Rehabilitation Division has treated over 5,500 injured individuals since the beginning of the war in Gaza, expecting that the number of injured soldiers could reach 12,500.
