Hamas Responds to LBCI Report: Bias Towards Israel and Promotion of Its Agenda

The media office of Hamas announced today, Friday, that "LBCI presented us with a report titled (The War of Madness and Extremism), which contains an absurd, unjust, and unprecedented comparison between the fascist occupation government and the resistance in Gaza. The report includes a series of inaccuracies that contradict the facts and implicitly align with the occupier's efforts to blame the resistors for the killing of children and women and the overall genocide." The statement pointed out that "the report linked the current massacres to the acts of resistance on October 7th, as if the Palestinian cause was born on that day, ignoring the long history of occupation and that every occupation has a resistance working to expel it. It overlooked previous events such as the settlement expansion in the West Bank, the siege of Gaza for 17 years, attacks on Islamic and Christian sites in Jerusalem, and the constant threat of transfer." The report intentionally ignored Hamas's perspective published regarding the events of October 7th.

Hamas views the report as a provocation against the resistance and its leadership, criminalizing its actions, methods, and tools. The statement asserts that accusing Hamas, which defends its people and homeland, of (killing Israeli civilians) constitutes a significant injustice to the Palestinian people and their resistance, serving as a certificate of innocence for the criminal Israeli occupation and fully adopting its vision and agenda as well as its massacres. "The comparison between the resistance and the occupation, or between resistance leadership and criminal occupation leaders, is bias in itself towards the occupation and promotes its project, existence, surrender, and submission to it."

The statement concluded: "We, in the media office of Hamas in Lebanon, express our astonishment at the content and timing of the report, and we call on LBCI to fully align with the victim, as it has done since the beginning of the aggression. We reaffirm that aligning with the occupation in content is an additional crime against the victims, a departure from humanitarian values, and an endorsement of the genocide being perpetrated against our Palestinian people."
