Title: Yemeni Defense Minister Advisor (Houthi): Victory is in Our Hands and Strikes Will Not Defeat Us

Lieutenant General Abdul Hakim Amer, advisor to the Yemeni Defense Minister, stated that the American and British airstrikes against the Houthis will not be effective, emphasizing that "military resolution" on the ground is needed, relying on the men of the Yemeni army. The Yemeni official expressed to the Arab World News Agency the army's readiness to "decide the battle," but said, "The army wants an international decision, it wants a political decision. The army has the capability to resolve the battle, but the international community has dealt with this issue with sensitivity or negativity, to be honest. They have dealt with matters very negatively, and what is happening now in the Red Sea is one of the results of that."

He added, "The international community and our brothers in the coalition must realize that the Houthi militias cannot accept peace nor can they yield to peace, but rather by military resolution, and military resolution cannot come from the air or through these strikes. Military resolution can only come from the men of the army."

He continued, "If the coordination process and task exchange between the army and the air support, which we currently lack, are restored, I believe that military resolution will not cost much. But the current situation consists of random operations and not a battle; sporadic strikes in several locations but there are no Houthi casualties, only innocent citizens."

The Yemeni official revealed that "the peace negotiations sponsored by Saudi Arabia had reached the final moments, even though the government made very significant concessions to succeed in these negotiations out of love and concern for the safety of lives, because in the end, the loser is the Yemeni people. However, the Houthis always raise the ceiling of their demands, and whenever they reach a certain point, they ask for something else."

The Yemeni Minister's advisor stated: "When they were cornered and negotiations reached the final touches, they created the current crisis in the Red Sea to escape from the commitments they signed or were supposed to agree upon, and that's why there will be no peace with the Houthis, and only military resolution will suffice."

Recently, the United States and Britain carried out repeated airstrikes on Houthi positions to disrupt and weaken the group’s capabilities to threaten maritime freedom and global trade. The Houthis claim they are targeting vessels owned or operated by Israeli companies or carrying goods to or from Israel, in solidarity with Gaza, which has been under Israeli attack since October 7.
