Egypt's Minister of Health, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, pointed out that addressing the issue of population growth is one of the government's priorities, affirming that efforts continue to determine the causes of this phenomenon and ways to address it. In television statements, he noted that work is ongoing to study and analyze data related to demographic patterns, identify the underlying causes of population growth, and explore methods to combat it. The Egyptian minister mentioned a significant decrease in the number of births in recent years, which has reached 2.7 children per woman, marking the lowest rate recorded in Egypt for decades, adding that statistics indicate that approximately 5,680 children are born daily, meaning there is one new birth every 15 seconds. He continued: "Despite this significant challenge, indicators show an 8% improvement in the population growth rate in Egypt compared to previous years," emphasizing the ongoing efforts to raise community awareness about the importance of family planning and controlling population growth.
