The President of the Asian Football Confederation, Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, affirmed his support for football in Lebanon through the projects presented by the Lebanese Football Association. He expressed hope that "the conditions will improve. Today, the Lebanese Federation and the Lebanese team face new challenges with the AFC Asian Cup, and the results they have achieved in recent years are commendable. We wish success to our friends at the Lebanese Federation, headed by Mr. Hashem Haidar. This visit will be one of many to come, God willing."
Sheikh Salman was received today, Monday, at the second presidential office in Ain el-Tineh by the Speaker of Parliament, Nabih Berri, along with the Vice President of the Asian Football Confederation and the President of the Lebanese Football Federation, Mr. Hashem Haidar, the Secretary-General of the AFC Datuk Seri Windsor John, and Deputy Secretary-General Wahid Karami, with the presence of the Secretary-General of the Lebanese Football Federation Jihad Al-Shahaf.
The AFC President expressed his happiness in meeting Nabih Berri, referring to their discussions about Lebanese and Asian football, and highlighted Berri's continuous support for Lebanese football and the football situation in Lebanon.
Additionally, President Berri addressed general conditions and recent developments during his meeting with former Minister Nicolas Fattoush. In the afternoon, the Speaker of Parliament met with the Lebanese Ambassador to Paraguay, Hassan Hajjaji, accompanied by the President of the Islamic Charitable Association, Abdul Amir Hafiz, and the General Supervisor of the Lebanese Educational Center in Paraguay, Abdullah Rida, in the presence of the External Relations Officer of the Amal Movement, Ali Hayek.
