Prime Minister Naufal Salam has stressed the "need to delay a final decision on the national exams due to the exceptional circumstances the country is facing, pending clarity on whether the ceasefire will indeed be implemented."
Salam noted that he "has followed the issue closely over the past few days with Education Minister Rima Karami," emphasizing that "maintaining educational standards and safeguarding students' right to receive official certification must be paired with ensuring their security and safety, as well as guaranteeing equal opportunities for all candidates."
He pointed out that "postponing the scheduled date for the first round of baccalaureate exams, originally set for the first of next month, has become urgent to give students adequate time to prepare, should the exams proceed."
He added that "the option of providing students with school-issued certificates remains on the table if exams cannot be conducted."
