U.S. President Donald Trump reiterated Thursday that Iran "will never have a nuclear weapon," stating this move contributes to global safety following the recently signed memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran to end regional hostilities.
On Truth Social, Trump emphasized the ongoing oil flow, the strong performance of stock markets, and record-high employment rates.
He asserted that the U.S. is "stronger, safer, and more respected than ever before."
Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian praised the memorandum with the U.S., calling it "historic" after the agreement bore the signatures of both leaders, paving the way for negotiations towards a final deal.
Pezeshkian shared an English version of the memo on X, signed alongside Trump and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who facilitated the mediation.
The three released documents outline 14 clauses included in the agreement.
The Iranian President remarked, "This is a historic document and a strong message from Iran: peace will be achieved under mutual respect."
Through a remote signing, Trump and Pezeshkian formalized the memorandum to conclude the Middle Eastern conflict that began on February 28.
The current memorandum detailed by a senior American official to journalists Wednesday stipulates an immediate suspension of U.S. sanctions on Iranian oil sales post-signing.
Washington commits to lifting all sanctions upon final agreement at the end of a 60-day negotiation period.
According to the terms, Iran must allow full resumption of maritime navigation in the strategic Strait of Hormuz within 30 days, aimed at alleviating the continuous economic strain due to the closure.
The document also requires Iran to reduce its high-enriched uranium stockpile, stating "the minimum mechanism is lowering enrichment levels under IAEA supervision."
Should a final agreement be reached, the U.S. promises to coordinate with "regional partners" on a collectively agreed final plan worth at least $300 billion to aid Iran's reconstruction and economic development.
