Speaking at a Hezbollah memorial ceremony for martyrs Hussein Al-Abed Hamdan and Mohammed Al-Baqer Riad Kablanee, Dr. Ali Fayyad, a member of the "Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc," emphasized the significance of resistance against Israeli presence. He argued that the U.S.-Iranian agreement, bolstered by Iran’s support for Lebanon, positions the country to achieve a balanced stance against Israel and potentially forces the Israeli withdrawal.
Fayyad criticized the Lebanese government's weak stance and negotiation strategies, stating that their priorities lie more in disarming militia rather than liberating national land.
Fayyad further remarked that the Memorandum of Understanding between the U.S. and Iran presents a new challenge for Lebanon, urging the government to pressure Israel into adhering to a ceasefire and ensuring Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territories.
He pressed the government to restrain Israeli military actions and assassinations, which disregard Lebanese sovereignty, conveying that the Lebanese expect their government to reflect defense and protection.
Highlighting the legitimacy of resistance, Fayyad emphasized that every act of aggression by Israel justifies a defensive response, underscoring that any Israeli soldier on Lebanese soil validates the resistance's cause.
Closing his remarks, Fayyad commemorated the martyrs, praising their role in a resilient and potent resistance movement. He noted that despite challenges, the resistance continues its campaign, unsettling adversaries and maintaining Lebanon's defense.
