A new round of negotiations between Israel and Lebanon kicks off today in Washington, under U.S. mediation, according to 'Russia Today'.
The Lebanese delegation comprises security and political representatives, with Ambassador Nada Maawad signing on Lebanon's behalf. The Israeli side is headed by Ambassador Yehiel Leiter, with oversight from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz.
The negotiations are overseen by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. However, his scheduled visit to the Gulf states may affect his personal attendance over the three-day period.
Discussions will occur on two tracks: security and political.
