Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri has extended his congratulations to Dr. Nabil Fahmy on his appointment as the new Secretary-General of the Arab League. In a congratulatory telegram, Berri expressed his confidence in Fahmy's ability to steer the institution through the forthcoming phase amidst the challenges facing the Arab region.
Berri emphasized that Fahmy's unanimous selection by member states reflects trust in his competence and expertise. He wished him success in strengthening Arab collaborative efforts and unifying visions and stances to benefit the security, stability, and prosperity of Arab nations.
In his ongoing engagements, Berri hosted Sheikh Ali Bahsoon, the representative of Marja Sheikh Bashir Najafi in Lebanon and Syria, along with Judge Sheikh Abdul Halim Sharara at the Ain al-Tineh residence. They held discussions on general affairs.
The Parliament Speaker also met with the family of Martyr Brigadier General Wissam Sabre from the Lebanese Army, who was killed in an Israeli attack on a military vehicle in the Khardali area in southern Lebanon.
