The municipality of Bazourieh has issued a warning to residents in the town and neighboring areas about the potential presence of internationally banned cluster bombs. These bombs are camouflaged to look like 'small children's toys' and may be scattered across several villages in southern Lebanon.
The municipality urged families to specifically educate children not to touch or approach any strange or colorful spherical objects that might appear toy-like. It also advised avoiding fields, orchards, and open lands that have not been surveyed or decontaminated.
Residents are strongly advised against moving any suspicious objects upon discovery. Instead, they should immediately report to the municipality, local security agencies, or the Lebanese army. The statement emphasized the danger these munitions pose, particularly to children's lives.
