Iran Refutes US Claims on Usage of Unfrozen Assets for American Goods

Iran's chief negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, stated on Thursday that the United States' assertion that Tehran will use the assets being unfrozen to purchase American agricultural products is not true.

In a post on "X," Ghalibaf commented, "The United States exports only genetically modified soybeans, false promises, and nonsense."

On Wednesday, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Pissent echoed President Donald Trump's claims that a significant portion of the Iranian assets to be unfrozen would be used to buy American food and medicine.

In contrast, Iran emphasizes that it will independently decide how to allocate these funds.
