U.S. Vice President Hints at Military Option in Iran Deal Future

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance has stated that the United States does not rule out the possibility of resorting again to military options against Iran. He indicated that any decision in this regard will be based on Tehran's behavior and its compliance with the Islamabad Agreement provisions.

Speaking to journalists before departing from Virginia, Vance noted that the U.S. President will not order a return to military operations unless there is a clear necessity and a specified objective. He emphasized that the future of escalation depends on the steps Iran will take in the coming phase.

He explained that a resumption of the Iranian nuclear program or new attacks targeting commercial ships could prompt Washington to reassess its stance and take additional measures if needed.

Conversely, the U.S. Vice President expressed cautious optimism about the ongoing technical talks between the United States and Iran, describing them as progressing positively, though he deemed it premature to speak of final outcomes.

Vance's remarks follow President Donald Trump’s assertion that there is progress in communications with Tehran, while he refrained from confirming or denying the possibility of resuming military operations. Meanwhile, Washington and Tehran continue efforts to reach broader understandings on the nuclear issue and regional maritime security.
