Reuters reported Friday that armed men have taken control of an oil tanker off Yemen's southern coast.
According to the agency, maritime security sources indicated that the armed men, believed to have boarded the tanker 'Asana' loaded with chemicals in the Gulf of Aden off Yemen's southern coast on Friday, are holding the vessel.
Ship tracking data showed that the small tanker, whose flag has not been confirmed, has listed Bosaso in Somalia as its next destination.
Meanwhile, the British Maritime Trade Operations stated that unauthorized personnel boarded a vessel as it was traveling east 65 nautical miles south of Yemen’s Mukalla port in the Gulf of Aden.
