An insider has disclosed to Russia's TASS agency that American negotiators, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, plan to visit Kyiv and Moscow in the coming days.
The source verified the accuracy of the visit plans but refrained from providing specific dates or details regarding the anticipated discussions in the Ukrainian and Russian capitals.
Diplomatically, Russian President Vladimir Putin mentioned that Russia and Ukraine maintain communication channels, primarily through security and intelligence services, while expressing uncertainty about the effectiveness of these communications in achieving a resolution.
On the other side, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy expressed hope for welcoming the envoys of U.S. President Donald Trump to Kyiv in the coming days, aiming to revive efforts to end the conflict that has persisted for over four years.
Negotiations between Russia and the United States aimed at resolving the Ukrainian conflict have largely stagnated amid the ongoing conflict with Iran, which Witkoff and Kushner are also working to resolve.
About two weeks ago, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov affirmed that Witkoff and Kushner are always welcome guests in Russia. Peskov stated in a press briefing, "They are always welcome guests in Moscow and valued interlocutors for their Russian counterparts with whom they maintain ongoing work contacts, as well as for President Vladimir Putin," noting that the exact dates for the American envoys' visit to Russia had not been set.
