Dozens have been injured in Houthi attacks on southern Saudi cities, according to an official Saudi statement released Tuesday morning.
The statement reported that the Houthi attacks targeted four southern cities: Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Najran, resulting in injuries to 73 civilians, including women and children.
It emphasized that "all necessary measures will be taken to deter the Houthis and defend the sovereignty of the Kingdom."
The Houthi group claimed on Tuesday that it had attacked southern Saudi Arabia using drones and missiles.
In recent days, the conflict in Yemen has intensified, marking the fiercest battles in years. Since Thursday, the Iran-backed Houthis launched a ground offensive alongside missile and drone strikes on coastal areas facing the Red Sea and around Taiz.
The Houthi group is reportedly attempting to advance towards areas adjacent to the strategically important Bab al-Mandeb Strait, which is controlled by government forces.
In clashes between the Houthis and government forces in multiple Yemeni cities, dozens from both sides have been killed or injured over the past few days.
