Official media reported today, Sunday, that the Iranian Navy has received cruise missiles with a range of up to one thousand kilometers, as well as reconnaissance helicopters. Iranian Navy Commander Shahram Irani stated, "The range of the 'Talaei' cruise missile exceeds one thousand kilometers and it is an intelligent missile that can change targets during the mission." Irani noted that reconnaissance aircraft, drones, and naval cruise missiles are among the new weapons added to the Navy's arsenal, adding that "all this equipment has been designed and produced by Iranian military industries." Despite Western military analysts asserting that Iran sometimes exaggerates its capabilities, domestically-produced missiles and drones represent a key element of Tehran's military equipment. This comes at a time when the United States has accused Iran of carrying out a drone attack on a chemical tanker in the Indian Ocean.
