President Michel Aoun chaired a critical meeting at Baabda Palace, encompassing Army Commander General Joseph Aoun, former Ambassador Simon Karam, military negotiation team members, and the advisory group overseeing the negotiations.
The discussion focused on evaluating recent developments in Lebanon and the broader region, including the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Iran. Additionally, they reviewed preparations for the upcoming round of Lebanese-American-Israeli negotiations scheduled to take place in Washington on June 23rd, 24th, and 25th.
President Aoun imparted his guidance, emphasizing Lebanon's steadfast position regarding the permanent ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied territories, the deployment of the Lebanese army to the international borders, the return of Lebanese prisoners, and the initiation of reconstruction efforts.
