President Jozef Aoun has condemned the ongoing Israeli escalation, stating: "What we witness today in the south and Bekaa, with the expansion of Israeli attacks causing more deaths and destruction, represents a serious and condemnable escalation. This especially affects dozens of innocent people, including women and children, and practically targets all ongoing efforts to establish a ceasefire and end the war, particularly following recent developments between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran."
He stated, "This will not prevent the efforts to achieve a comprehensive ceasefire as quickly as possible, which I have recommended to the Lebanese delegation negotiating in the upcoming round in Washington. This issue cannot be taken lightly because a comprehensive ceasefire is the gateway to discussions on other topics, most importantly the Israeli withdrawal, the deployment of the army, and the return of the captives."
