Official Yemeni media reported on Monday that dozens of Houthi fighters have surrendered themselves and their weapons to government forces in Al-Jawf province, located in the northeast of the country, amid escalating military operations on multiple fronts.
The Yemeni satellite channel indicated that the surrender occurred following calls from government forces through loudspeakers. These calls included assurances that the fighters would not be harmed if they laid down their arms and surrendered.
According to the channel, the government forces issued field orders to temporarily cease fire to facilitate the surrender process.
Footage broadcast by the channel showed several fighters raising their hands and moving towards army positions, noted as Houthi fighters who had responded to calls for surrender.
