A well-informed source revealed to 'Wardna' that the fire that broke out in a warehouse owned by the 'Ogero' authority last Monday is almost certainly suspected to be arson, intended to mask embezzlement and corruption suspicions.
According to sources, the Internal Security Forces’ Information Division has taken the testimony of the warehouse guard, as directed by Financial Prosecutor Judge Maher Shaaito, who is overseeing the investigation to identify any culprits involved.
The sources further suggest that the fire might have occurred after the management of 'Ogero' requested an inventory of the warehouse, which holds expensive fiber optic cables. The site was previously a scrap yard affiliated with the Ministry of Telecommunications.
The new Ogero management has shown significant concern for the authority’s assets, prompting them to request an inventory check last Friday, just three days before the fire, thereby strengthening the suspicion of 'corruption cover-up.'
Moreover, the fire forensic expert is expected to submit their report to the judiciary in a few days, potentially resolving questions regarding the cause of the initial outbreak.
